Class 13: Getting Your Hands Dirty
Transcript
Hello, friends. Welcome to a tradition unlike any other. This is the rev ops MBA with Brian Kreutz.
The only way to be strategic in this role is to understand the mechanism of the business better than anyone else. And so I see a lot of people people that are like, oh, once I get my next promotion, I don't have to log in or build or whatever anymore. I think it's just a really bad way to look at it. Your superpower is being so good that you can autopilot, a lot of this, like, understanding what's going on in the business and turning that into strategic initiatives. But if you turn that kind of like that get my hands dirty kind of approach off, I see people just get really stuck really quickly because it's way easier to call BS on the strategic approach if you don't have anything to back it up.
And when it comes to even running a road map review or a quarterly business review, it is both a reflection of what you've done over the last thirty days. Right, if it is in fact a quarterly one, or the next thirty days, next ninety days, etcetera. And one of the key things that I think a lot of admin leave out of the conversation is the adoption piece. So to your point, you can't just be strategic, and you really can't just build.
