Revenue Engine Diagnostic Overview
Course Introduction
Welcome
Hello and welcome to the Revenue Performance Accelerator by RevPartners! If you’re here, it means you’ve already made it through the fundamentals of RevOps and are ready to start digging in and truly implement a revenue operations strategy.
If you took the RevOps Fundamentals course, you’ll remember me, but if you’re new around here: I’m Nikki, former revenue operations strategist and current product marketing manager here at RevPartners. In RevOps Fundamentals, I pulled back the curtain on all the tricks of the trade I learned as a boots-on-the-ground strategist to help you start building a solid foundation.
If RevOps Fundamentals was 101, this course is a 201 level. This is Implementing RevOps 201: Revenue Diagnostic, Mapping, and Benchmarking, and if you want to get the most out of this session, it’ll be helpful to ground ourselves in those fundamentals from the last course.
A quick recap of RevOps Fundamentals
Whether you already took it with me or just have a decent understanding of Revenue Operations basics, you should understand that RevOps is a strategic journey, not a one-and-done project. In the last course, we discussed the importance of analyzing the maturity of your business and working through from level 1 discipline all the way to level five, full financial transparency in your single source of truth.
In order to establish the fundamentals, we pledged to eliminate siloed departments and move toward a unified Revenue Engine, built on that single source of truth and a shared data language.
Most importantly, in the last course we reviewed the Revenue Performance Model — a framework that follows the money from the first website session through to the final realized revenue, and actually operationalize that data.
If you aren’t familiar with the Revenue Performance Model, or just need a refresher, click the link below to download a detailed PDF on what it is and how to use it.
Let’s get started
Okay, that’s it for the recap and level-setting. Bottom line: Whether you’re continuing from the last course or just joining us now, you should be ready to view every part of the customer journey not as a single department task, but as a measurable, scientific milestone.
You have a car, you have the keys, now it’s time to actually drive it. And in order to do that, we have to know where we want to go, check to make sure this car can actually get us there, and then map out the route. That’s what we’re going to do today. Let’s get started!
